Welcome to the Gaming4Health Online Arcade!

As Zarupee always says (that's the green guy you see everwhere on the site, our mascot), "A playful mind is a productive mind." Which, translated, really is to say, "If you work all the time without a break, you're not doing yourself any favors." So, the next time you're feeling run-down from working so much, take a break, and c'mon back here to ... GET YOUR GAME ON!!

For Questions and/or Comments, please contact brad@gaming4health.com.

Below are games that you can play online, or download to your PC, and a few game reviews. We have a great deal more to come, but for now we have games divided into five (5) sections: Nutrition and Obesity, Diabetes, Physical Fitness, Brain Fitness and our own version of Ultimate Arcade's Mini-Arcade of Casual Games.
Play and Have Fun!!

Games on Nutrition and Obesity

The vast majority of games on Nutrition and Obesity are for kids. When we find more for adults we'll have them here for you to play, but there are some extremely clever games for kids, we think. Of course, there's nothing wrong with adults playing these games! Honestly, if you didn't learn about proper nutrition at home or at school, no one is going to make fun of you for playing games in order to improve your life.

Ready Steady Cook is a very cute little game for kids. As Junior Chef, you need to answer questions from Senior Chef, and all the clues are in the kitchen. If you can answer correctly, then you just might be "ready, steady" to cook!
Food Fury is one of several games we have here from Playnormous, which is a subsidiary of Archimage. Food Fury gives kids a safe place to apply skills on food choice and portioning, using the "Go, Slow, Whoa!" method.
Feed the Monster is a fun little game developed by the National Dairy Council to teach kids about basic nutrition. The goal of this game to feed the monster a food from each group of the food pyramid. Don't forget the bonus questions!
Bon Appetite Arcade is a fun little game, along the lines of space invaders and other shooter games. Except, in THIS game, your weapon is a fork and your targets are various food items you are trying to stab in order to build a healthy meal!

Games on Diabetes

Obviously these kinds of games are very specific in their audience. Like Nutrition/Obesity games, most of what we see if for kids, but as more adults find themselves with diabetes later in life now-a-days, games are a good way to learn proper diet, exercise and management.

Food Fight is a great little game from the American Diabetes Association. In their words; "Life shouldn't be all about diabetes all the time. There's always time for fun & Games!" So, why not enjoy a little food fight, and learn something while you're at it?
Food Safari will take most adults "back in time" to their childhood days of reading Highlights and playing the hidden picture game. This is one of seven offerings from the American Diabetes Association.

Games on Physical Fitness

It is quite tough to develop an online game for Physical Fitness. There are many, many, many games that are add-ons to console games like Dance, Dance Revolution, and TONS of exercise equipment using the latest technology. Still, there are companies out there doing some pretty amazing things!

The Move Mixer is a fantastic game that allows kids to create their OWN dance! Pick the music, dance speed and drag your dance moves onto the dance track to customize your very own dance. When you're done, master your moves for great exercise and fun.
Bubble Trouble is another game from Playnormous, but this time in the category of Physical Fitness. Although you don't actually exercise while playing the game, you learn about ways TO exercise, and the benefits of doing them.
Get Fit, Get Right is more than a "game" in the traditional sense. Developed by the Starlight Starbright Foundation, this site has everything: learning about BMIs, meeting other teens who are working on their weight, videos of what others are doing, a "coach" tool to help motivate you and much, much more!
How The Body Works is perhaps the best interactive-learning game around. This is a game about physical fitness in the sense that it teaches you about various parts of your body. Pick a body part and then watch movies, read articles, take quizzes, play word finds and participate in various activities. TONS to do!

Games on Brain Fitness

We find more games for Brain Fitness, perhaps, than any other. And when you start delving deeper, there are even sub-categories: Memory, Awareness, Visual/Spacial and more. These kinds of games also run the gamut from kids to adults (the adults games [ahem] being more difficult). Of course, we wouldn't advise a one-on-one match with your kid if they're over (say) 14, because there's something about a lifetime of gameplay and problem solving that kids just get faster than us older folks.

Deep Blue Expedition is a very playable, and pretty, visual-spacial game that takes place under water. A lot of fun for people who enjoy puzzles. Clear the polution and save the fish!
Catch the Ladybug! is developed by Happy Neuron, and is a free-to-play online example of some 40+ offerings. This game was developed to help improve the cognitive function of Attention, by asking you to identify and "catch" the ladybugs that progressively get smaller and faster the longer you play.
Neuron Navigator is one of several offerings from BrainsRule! We reviewed one of their games (see below) last week, and really enjoyed it. In Navigator, you take a journey right alongside the path of a growing neuron. Love science? This is YOUR type of game!
Paradise Island is a beautifully rendered game by Fitbrains.com, designed to exercise the language portion of your brain as well as your visual and spatial skills. It also tests for speed and accuracy.

Some Casual Games For Pure Fun

Casual Games are the "talk of the town" now, especially for quality sites that have been around a while and have thousands (if not millions) of visitors each month. On the business side, these kinds of games are great to keep people on your site for extended periods of time, and also as other avenues to serve up advertisements and increase revenues.
